Music ' Action vient d'annoncer la programmation officielle du prochain Reggae Sun Ska . Créé il y a 9 ans par les membres de Music ’ Action, le Reggae Sun Ska est devenu au fil des années le plus important Festival du sud Ouest abordant la culture Caraïbéenne et Africaine.
Le but étant de proposer une offre culturelle plus importante aux touristes, mais aussi faire découvrir le Médoc. Depuis 1998, le Reggae Sun Ska a su conserver son esprit d’origine qui repose sur 3 piliers fondamentaux :

- La Musique
- L’échange interculturel, Rencontres et métissage
- La promotion territoriale du Pays Médoc

Le Reggae Sun Ska occupe une position particulière, son positionnement fait référence en matière de découverte artistique. En partenariat avec les offices de Tourisme et les Municipalités, il propose de découvrir les révélations montantes de la scène française et étrangère.

Mercredi 2 Août : Dub Academy Heavy Roots Sound

sera consacré à la 3ème Dub Academy (Sound-Systems de l'école anglaise) devenue maintenant incontournable.Le principe est simple, chaque Sound invité vient avec son propre system de son et ses châteaux d'enceintes « maison »pour une déferlante de basses.
Une expérience hors du commun, unique en France et en exclusivité au Ja'Sound !

Jeudi 3 Août : Le grand retour de Cornell Campbell en France, Inna de Yard Sessions, les légendaires Congos réunis
célébrera le grand retour de Cornell Campbell à la voix toujours aussi pure. A noter également la présence exceptionnelle de Prince Jazzbo et Ricky Chaplin, de real old school DJ !! La soirée mettra à l'honneur le concept acoustique des albums Inna de Yard du label Makasound avec Earl Chinna Smith, Kiddus I et Cedric Congo Myton.
La soirée se terminera en apothéose avec les original Congos réunifiés pour un concert grandiose

sera dédié au live, mêlant tradition et modernité, mythes et jeunes artistes avec notamment Fantan Mojah et Jahmali deux étoiles montantes en Jamaïque, et le Bambu Station Crew directement des Iles Vierges. A noter la Session Nyabinghi une première assurée par la World Ethiopian Federation.

Le Ja Sound est fier d'offrir à l'ensemble des massives reggae un show exclusif et inédit de Jah Bunny Wailer and the Solomonic Reggaestra.

    Le carnaval de Londres est un événement incontournable de la scène musicale Européenne. C’est aussi l’occasion de retrouver vos artistes préférés dans des configurations parfois originales. Plus de 100 Sound System en plein Londres, des centaines de stands afro-caraibéens mais surtout une ambiance folle folle folle avec plus de 2 millions de personnes dansant au rythme de la caraïbes !

Au programme Steel Band, Soca, Dub, Dancehall, Ragga, Reggae…

Tuff Gong/Island et VP Records

Pour la première fois dans l’histoire du reggae, deux labels de reggae (Tuff Gong/Island et VP Records) joignent leurs forces pour conjuguer leurs talents respectifs et leurs catalogues pour permettre de diffuser plus largement une image positive du reggae et ainsi élargir l’auditoire. Cette opération est appelée : Blazing Reggae: Genesis To Revelation.

 

“By promoting the catalogs of both labels, we hope to expand reggae’s mainstream awareness,“ dit Ramon Galbert, directeur du Marketing pour UMe, qui dirige le catalgue Tuff Gong/Island. “Like many genres, reggae has numerous sub-genres and the combined marketing efforts from these two historic labels will expose consumers to many of those core sub-genres.“

 

Cette campagne, qui débutera à partir de juillet 2006, vise à inonder le marché de compilations reggae dont voici les artistes principaux :

 

Bob Marley & The Wailers, Toots & the Maytals, Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs, Black Uhuru, Buju Banton, Jimmy Cliff, Dennis Brown, Bunny Wailer, Junior Murvin, Third World, Stephen Marley, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Ziggy Marley, Shabba Ranks, Sean Paul, Yellowman, Garnet Silk, Dillinger, Capleton, Luciano, Beenie Man, Eek a Mouse, Barrington Levy, Lady Saw, Wayne Wonder, Jah Cure, and Bounty Killer…

 

Ils prévoient aussi de rééditer des musiques de films ou bande original comme "The Harder They Come".

 

Mais cette opération ne s’arrête pas là, les deux labels permettront à certains fans de voyager en Jamaïque pour enregistrer un titre dans le célèbre Tuff Gong Studio qui sera pressé et distribué par VP Records. Une sorte d’école des fans du reggae, pourquoi pas…

 

Adidas, la marque de vêtements de sport se joint à l’effort “collectif” pour nous offrir des tee-shirts en édition limitée commémorant l’histoire du reggae. Spécialement crée pour cette campagne historique, ils arrivent sur le marché en même temps que le nouveau sigle d’Adidas “Kingston”. Zion Rootswear sortira aussi quelques nouveaux modèles à cette occasion.

 

Cerise sur le gâteau pour les sound man, il est aussi prévu un clash entre Tuff Gong et VP !

Soutenu par des partenaires presse comme Rolling Stone, Vibe, Spin, The Fader, Paste, Relix, VICE, Global Rhythm, Mass Appeal, cette opération Blazing Reggae: Genesis To Revelation fera date dans l’histoire du reggae. Nous l’espérons fructueuse, elle est en tout cas porteuse d’espoir pour les générations futures ! La promotion du reggae est en marche !
